I was given this duo as a gift and I love it! The colors have great pigmentation, with a cool irredescence. The colors really brighten my hazel/green eyes and blend so well.
I tried CSESSS (wow, that's a long name) in shade luck penny and really like it! The color is, obviously, shimmery copper, but subdued enough to wear during the day. The color goes well with browns or pinks, so I find myself using it a lot. I feel very glam when I wear it. Note that I did not pile this on. One swipe across the lid was really all the color I needed. The color seems to stay with me all day.
Pros:Great color, fun shimmer Cons:Possibility of creating too much shimmer
I tried this eyeshadow in a shade "Daybreak" which was a GWP.The shade is light shimmer nude color.Though the shade is super shimmer it is not that shimmery and it is a perfect wear and does not give that disco look.the pigmentation is great and blends well and stays longer. It is a right choice for nude shade lovers!
"Lucky Penny" is the color. It's a beautiful pink/coppery penny shade. It's a great neutral eyeshadow that goes well by itself or with browns, taupes or pinks. VERY shimmery, it's just a beautiful natural color. Looks great with touch base "up lighting" beneath it. Definitely would buy again, and am looking into buying more colors from the super shimmer collection!
Pros:Product lasts a long time, since a little of it goes a long way. Gorgeous color. Cons:Expensive.
Touch Tint for Eyes Shimmer Formula in Nude Sparkle
I received this as a sample/travel/trial size as a promotional with purchase. The shade I have is Nude Sparkle. It's a nice soft, sublte, neutral, nude shimmery shadow. It acts as a soft dry cream shadow. Feels very nice and light on my lids. Use alone or to highlight. Does not irritate my sensitive eye area. Buildable coverage, starts out subtle and sheer and can build to a more intense color and shimmer.
This is lightweight, and water-resistant. Suitable for sensitive eyes, ophthalmologist tested.
My skin: NW25/sensitive/hyper-oily/acne prone w/ pink undertones
Pros:nice buildable, shimmer, powder dewy finish, ok for sensitive eyes Cons:shade selection
Blue Lagoon is a very shimmery denim blue color. The texture is wonderful and it's nicely pigmented. It really doesn't do much for my brown eyes so I haven't worn it much. My standard complaint w/ Clinque pressed shadows is the price, especially for the singles. They just aren't that spectacular for me to shell out that kind of money for one color.
Pros:Nice texture. Cons:Price, not terribly unique.
Again, if I hadn't received this product as a gift, I wouldn't have it. Buttermilk is a creamy, apricot color. It is very matte. It almost matches my natural lid color. I wear it now and then when I want that "fresh faced" barely there makeup look. I just swipe it from lashline to brow and add some brown liner and I'm ready.
Very pricey, I'd rather spend the money on something a little more unique.
Coffee Shop duo is a nice bronzy brown shade and a rich coffee color (appropriately enough lol.) The lighter shade is a good all over the lid color and the darker one makes a really nice liner shade. Both are very shimmery and nicely pigmented. Good for a smokey eye look as well.
My only complaint is the price. If I hadn't received this as a gift, I probably wouldn't have purchased it for myself. If I'm going to pay that kind of money for a e/s, I'd prefer spending it on a powder pigment. I think they're a little more versatile.
Pros:Nice, shimmery colors. Cons:A little pricey for just pressed shadows.
I got this in a GWP of my mom's that she gave me. I hate it! The colors don't flatter my skin tone at all... one is a lightish-mediumish pink with a golden shimmery hue to it, and the other is a brown with an undescribable hue to it. I don't mind brown, but this brown's added undescribable hue just looks weird on me. The pink, on my olive skin, just looks sooo out-of-place on my skin. I think, on the right person, both of these colors could look gorgeous. I didn't take completely off the rating because the texture's okay, and the pigmentation is pretty good. Oh, and the right person would look very nice using this duo.
Pros:texture isn't bad, pretty good pigmentation, could like gorgeous on some people Cons:the colors look terrible on me!
I got a sample size of this duo for free because my mom gave me her GWP. I love the shimmer of the light bronzey brown and the dark brown. The lighter color could use more pigmentation, but the darker one is quite pigmented. They both are pigmented enough. The price of a full sized duo is $17.50, but I personally could never justify spending more than a few bucks on e/s, but that's JMO. The colors are versatile, except the dark brown would overpower pale skin unless you mix it with another color (I'm not pale though so I don't have a prob. with that...). I also don't think the colors would show up on African American skin.
Pros:pretty colors, nice shimmer Cons:price of a full sized duo, lighter color could use a little more pigmentation
Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Super Shimmer - Blue Lagoon is a very shimmery light blue almost has a silver cast to the shade (nothing exciting). Since the color is a light shade I would definitely describe it as a lightly pigmented, eyelid shade. A good summer color. As with most Clinique eyeshadows, they are housed in very nice mirrored compacts. I always feel that their duos priced at $17.50 are a much better deal.
Pros:nice texture, nice mirrored compact Cons:price for a single eyeshadow, light pigment
Clinique Colour Surge Eyeshadow Velvet in Buttermilk is a very unique shade. All of the velvets are matte shades and this is like a matte white eyeshadow. Since the color is just a soft white I often use it as a base to apply color over it and if I am going for a mod look I use it applied heavily on my eyelid with black eyeliner. Due to the lack of usage for this eyeshadow, I would not recommend it, especially since this is a single shade for $13.50 and their Duo's are $17.50.
Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo in Coffee Shop is the perfect smokey eye shades. The first shade is a shimmery medium beige and the second shade is a dark shimmery coffee bean brown shade. The lighter shade is perfect for all over the lid and the dark shade is the perfect crease/liner smokey shade. I actually use this so much that this is my second compact. The eyeshadows are richly pigmented, work well together and are long lasting. It comes in a nice compact with a mirror and a pretty decent two sided applicator as far as compacts go.
Pros:mirrored compact, two perfectly cooordinated shades, light shimmer, long lasting, Cons:None.
Crystal Berry is a beautiful light shimmery purple that flashes gold in different lights. It doesn't have a whole lot of pigment, but is great for a more subtle look. Its gorgeous when applied wet and I haven't had any problems with creasing or fading. Its a beautiful light purple shadow that I find to be unique with just the right amount of shimmer.
Lilac Frost is a shimmery very pale shade that seems to have a silver cast to it in certain lights. A lot of people refer to it as having glitter, but I consider it more of a slight sparkly shimmer when its on my lid. The reason I'm so in love with it is because it goes on my lid as a sheer wash with very subtle color. Its versatile and can be paired successfully with a great range of different colors. I had purchased the Sable Shimmer a few years ago and had a lot of problems with creasing and being greasy, but this one really hasn't given me many problems with creasing and it doesn't feel oily or greasy on my lid like the Sable Shimmer. I train 2x's a day, 7 days a week so it is put through the same test each time I wear it and I've only occasionally seen a slight crease at the end of the day. It blends wonderfully and I highly recommend it!
Your message indicated that you paid $23.00 for Desert Sun shadow?? The price is $13.50. Not too bad a price considering you get a lot of product for your money, it's allergy tested (far superior testing procedures than the common 'hypoallerginically tested' stuff you see in discount stores) and you can always "try on" the colors at Clinique and not have to guess from a rack.
Pros:Great product, great price, allergy tested. Cons:None
Desert Sun is a true beige color with alot of shimmers,I use it to
highlight the inner corner of my eyes, the texture is very smooth and
the packaging is awesom, silver, so elegant, slim with a little mirror
and a sponge to apply the e/s! I love Clinique's little eye shadows
sponges they had inside in every packaging! But I won't buy it again
because is very expensive!!!!
Pros:texture,elegant and practical packaging Cons:price
This duo was my first Clinique eyeshadow, I bought it 3 years
ago!The packaging has two e/s,one light pinkish beige with shimmers and
one dark wine shade, matte texture which can be used wet as an
eyeliner! The packaging is very good and practical with a little
mirror and brushes one for applying the eyeshadow on lids, and one with
a point end to apply the dark e/s as an eyeliner!! But I don't think I
will buy it again because is a very expensive e/s and I can find
similar in a much cheepier brand!
